Jake's Success
Jake Simmerman, Multi Sport Athlete
I remember the first day I met Jake, it was late October and he was Sophomore in high school getting ready for his second year of hockey and baseball. Jake had been successful in sports for most of his life and was looking to take the next step with his development.
Jake had no formal training experience and his goals were to become stronger, more agile and explosive. So after his initial assessment, with Jake’s goals in mind, a program was set up to address his weaknesses first while also addressing the strengthening of his tendons and ligaments to prepare for his bodies future development. Over the course of a few months and a couple of program changes, Jake saw great improvement not only in his results at Katzenmoyer Performance but also with his abilities on the ice. So much that he earned his way onto the varsity.
As Jake transitioned from hockey season into baseball season, he continued to train at Katzenmoyer Performance. His development continued and he could see a huge difference in his abilities from the year prior. He was running faster, throwing harder and the ball had more pop coming off the bat. Jake was seeing the results of all his hard work that he had been putting in and his confidence grew on and off the field.
Over the next two years Jake continued to train at Katzenmoyer Performance. Each year, Jake saw more changes with his body and his results improved in hockey and baseball. The combination of Jake’s hard work and consistency with training enabled him to reach his goals. His Senior year Jake was all league in hockey and led the state in home runs in baseball.
Jake is now playing baseball for Ohio Dominican University.
Jacob's Success
Jacob Yaussy, Youth Training
Why he started
Jacob, 10, came to Katzenmoyer Performance because he wanted to become better in baseball and football. Jacob isn’t one of the bigger, faster or stronger kids for his age and he wanted to try youth training at Katzenmoyer Performance to see if he could become better.
Benefits of youth training
Jacob has seen the results of his hard work pay off on the field and within his life. He has improved in both baseball and football. He feels faster and stronger which makes sports feel easier for him. Not only does he see the benefit in sports but Jacob also has more confidence in his ability along with feeling healthier.
What he does
Jacob does a variety of things during his youth session. A typical session includes movements that help develop his quickness, explosiveness, power, reaction, strength, balance, coordination and body control. All these things are achieved through body weight movements like ladder drills, squats, lunges, box jumps, push ups, pull ups, jumping rope and a variety of other exercises.
Jacob would recommend anyone to come in because he has fun working out and he gets the results he came here for.
Tyler's Testimonial
Katzenmoyer Performance has helped me become the athlete that I am today. My quality of life has also improved over the last two years. I have felt myself become much faster without even doing one sprint, I can now lift much more than I could before.
It truly works they show your weight increasing with each session.
I have noticed that I can keep up with the kids that are 160 pounds when I weigh 225 pounds, most times I even beat them. I give full credit to this to Katzenmoyer performance.
Each time I go in I know I am becoming a better athlete. I now need less sleep to feel the same I did before going to Katzenmoyer Performance. I also now want to watch what I eat by just them talking to me, influencing me to just paying attention to what I eat. My weight has dropped to where I want it to be for my lacrosse season.

Michelle's Testimonial
I am a 41 year old, married, mother of two and I have been working out at Katzenmoyer Performance for about three years. I have always enjoyed my time with Andy and his staff; however, it wasn't until I had a fairly serious skiing accident in January 2011 that I really came to appreciate their knowledge about sports-related injuries.
Last year, I was in Utah skiing with friends when I fell, heard a pop in my knee and knew, immediately, that my ski trip was over. My husband called Andy from Utah to get his advice on how to proceed, and, Andy recommended a fantastic orthopedic surgeon for us to call when we returned to Ohio. After x-rays and an MRI, it turned out that I had torn my ACL with a minor MCL tear.
Surgery was scheduled six weeks later and rehab started about two weeks post surgery.
Once I started rehab, I talked to my physical therapist about going back into KP to lift. I was told that rehab combined with strength training would be great for my knee - as long as I stayed within my limitations set by the therapists - so, I went into KP to set up some appointments with Ross. Although I wasn't allowed to do any leg work in the beginning, I really wanted to keep working out, so Andy and Ross came up with workouts that only incorporated the upper body. Every week Ross would ask me about my rehab and how things were going with my knee. As the knee healed, Ross would, slowly, add leg work into my workouts.
One year later, my knee is stronger than ever, and I give Andy and Ross a lot of credit for that. They both worked very carefully with me to keep my workouts safe, so I could recover and get back to the life I had prior to the accident.
As of today I am back in the gym three days a week and I always look forward to new and challenging workouts set by the KP team!
Andy and Ross - I thank you for looking out for me and getting me "back to normal."

Ross Boyles
Ross Boyles has always had a passion for sports. He was introduced to fitness and exercise in middle school by his coaches and friends who had the same interests. Playing sports in throughout high school only helped reaffirm that passion.
When it came time to choose a major in college, it seemed like a natural progression to continue on with something that would allow him to continue to be involved with athletics. With the help of his advisors and teachers, namely David Litt, Ph.D., ATC, Thomas Habegger, Ph.D., Don Laubenthal M.S. and the rest of the Sport and Exercise Studies Department at Columbus State, he was able to find an avenue to pursue his interests. “I credit them with helping me figure out how I could take the things I had always been interested in and turn that into a career that I really enjoy. They really helped to put me on the path I’m on today.”
After graduating from CSCC he transferred to Capital University to continue his education with a Major in Exercise Science. He graduated in 2010 with his Bachelor’s Degree.
“My focus now is helping people reach their fitness goals. I really enjoy working with people from all populations whether it’s and athlete, general population, youth or older adults. Being a part of their successes is the most rewarding thing to me.”
